Description:

What is the colour of magic? This faux scientific magic paper has the answers along with some real science, for spice. Following on from the Adamantine best seller The Theory of Magic, we go in depth over how spells maintain their speed, where the excess energy goes, what colour it is, and the luminosity. We also discuss the real and genuinely exciting science of spectroscopy, which is fundamental to modern astrophysics for reasons we go into.

It's important to note that the "colour" here refers to the colour of the spell's afterglow and emission while travelling. We discuss some of the uses of this, from using specialised tools to see ht effects, and why you might want to.

The book includes a breakdown of how I defined spell colour similar to real-world spectroscopy, and the example spectra and overall colour for every SRD 5e spell. The exact colours are, of course, somewhat arbitrarily decided by me but the instructions on how to should allow you to form your very own systems should you wish.
